I disagree w/the assertion we as consumers of information are responsible for checking the legitimacy of information when viewed on a well known news site who's sole purpose is to report facts. I personally have never seen DW promote outright lies. But I have witnessed over the years some reports are guilty of skewing the atmosphere &/or assumed public sympathies by omission or by manipulative editing. This isn't out of character nor unusual for any news outlet, they all have a personal leaning. So I try to get as many disparate sources on a given topic as I can. Which is getting harder every year & the real topic DW should be investigating. The laziness of the AP & the fewer & fewer field agents. Mostly everything is reported from satellite or public cellphone footage. A decade ago this would be considered a disgrace. There are comedy skits about how all news programs report the same thing, w/the exact phrasing ! This is pathetic & from where mistrust stems.
Do yourselves a favor DW & stay as far away as possible from the impulse to emulate the large networks found in my country (US) It's why I watch your take on things, for a different perspective. And I couldn't care less if it's "late". So long as it's accurate. By accurate I include the horror. If the facts are horrible show the horrible facts. Poodles be damned. The ultra sensitive need to censor their viewing habits not the reverse. Within reason if you edit out the tragedy you deprive those involved of truth.
