In 2021 we began a complete DIY landscaping project. From planning the space, to doing our hardscape, and landscape planting, George and I did it all together over the course of 2 years. In this video we show you the complete project. There is footage of where we started and how it ended. While this video focuses primarily on the infrastructure, hardscaping & French Drain in the garden, you can find videos of the planting of this space in my "Japanese Maple Garden Playlist":

We hope this video brings you inspiration for creating new gardens in your landscape, and encourages you to try some DIY landscape projects. Thank you so much for watching. - Steph 🌱(Gardening in Massachusetts zone 6b) #gardening #spring #perennials #plants #new

The work George does is so meticulous! Nice job! And that it came together slowly over time is such an incentive to dream of my own special place in the garden.

George does such a good job explaining the reasoning behind what he is doing and then showing the actual work. It looks so good. He seems to really enjoy spending time in the garden..mission accomplished, Steph!

I am so glad you did not put music in this. I really enjoyed hearing the birds sing as he worked.

Please get George what ever kind of gloves he wants NOW! No need to wait for a "special ocassion" to justify the purchase, just get them because he needs them now and you love him. The transformation was nice to see with all the steps involved. Sometimes people do not realize how hard gardening can be. You two work well together. I love watching your garden grow.

I have been waiting for this video for so long.. it is absolutely amazing! GEORGE is the man! That was some hard work George, you should definitely be very proud of what you’ve done. Patience and persistence paid off ! The maples, the other plantings, the cobblestone, the pathway AND drainage are just beautiful! I was looking to see where the pagoda moved to after you got your mini boulder in there! Steph, you are definitely blessed! & your work as well has paid off also. Great job you two! Can’t wait to watch and see how everything looks during 2024’s season! You guys are among my favorite garden channels on YT. Thank you for sharing with us! 😊♥️

Wow. Everyone needs a George around. That was labor intensive… great job! I can’t even get my husband to dig a hole. As a woman who has CFS, I’m proud to say I transformed my entire garden by myself. From lifting & placing rocks, laying pavers, digging, planting, transplanting & creating beds. My husband just enjoys my hard-work. So count your blessings Steph. You have a great man!

This is absolutely amazing and I love seeing a realistic timeframe for a major DIY project to be completed. It’s such an inspiration and a gorgeous result. Thank you for bringing us along for the transformation.

The garden looks great. George did an amazing job and I like that you showed how with a bit of patience, you can get the material for a fraction of the cost.

The before and after is amazing.... It makes me wish my husband and I were younger.... So we could DIY more than we do. But so thankful that we are able to pace ourselves to do a little every year. Your video shows me we will get there. Lol. I love your maples.

George is such a hard worker! I love that you shared a real-life timeline. Sometimes projects take years and that's okay! Especially with kids and budgets. I can't wait to see the garden come to life in spring. 😊
