When I was 11 I was so happy that Big Hero 6 won that night. When I watched Kaguya I was 19 and shit no why did it lose. IT IS A MASTERPIECE. :(((

I personally loved How to Train Your Dragon 2 the most out of the nominees, but The Tale of the Princess Kaguya should've won imo. It took the most work to make, it had the best story and the best animation. The academy is so biased. smh

Thanks to the comments here I discovered the Tale of princess Kaguya. It's a shame that I am way too late but delighted that I got to witness that artistic masterpiece. That movie aced the true art of story telling according to the time period it is based on. I will forever love Baymax, but Kaguya deserved that accolade. Digging deep into its production value and creative approach, it breaks my heart even more that the movie was robbed of the recognition it deserved. Takahata deserves at least a posthumous tribute for his contribution to animated films.

This is so unfair. They also didn't give the oscar to "The Wind Rises" in 2014. In 2015 they again neglected another masterpiece of Studio Ghibli (Princess Kaguya) with unjustly. They're always neglect to all japanese animation films. Still now.
