Terraria: Can you TANK the Daytime Empress of Light?

to tank it you would need to have at least 140000 defense in classic mode, 105000 defense in expert mode, and 70000 defense in master mode
the damage you take is subtracted by your amount of defense in master mode, while in expert the damage that you take is subtracted by your defense multiplied by 0.75 (So Defense * 0.75 = damage subtracted from total) and classic is defense multiplied by 0.5.
so if you had 50000 defense and you took 68789 damage in master mode, you would still be taking 18789 damage (not including DR if you have any)

I have done this with six worm scarfs and it works like a charm. I even was able to tank projectiles as six worm scarfs gives you 102% damage reduction. You only ever take one damage.

To tank empress of light you need to increase your 5th dimension armor value though its just better to maneuver on the 4th dimension

I think that daytime EoL actually triggers the death animation instead of dealing damage and the number displayed is only a random number to avoid damage calculation overflow (like with Deatmode pre 1.5 version DoG)

Fun fact:If you use Brand of the Inferno, while having a shield you can guard/parry, blocking increases defense by 20, if you guard as a enemies gonna hit you, it'll get sent back+take damage. But, if you parry bosses...you take no damage meaning if you had enough summon dps you probably could tank EoL!

Melee here: I recommend wearing molten armor, it makes you lit plus ultimate tank armor

You could probably tank without increased defense with things like brain of confusion and hallowed armor that leg you dodge attacks, it’s not really tanking but it would help

If you do frozen turtle shell and worm tooth scarf and beetle armour you can take 13% damage when below 50%

To tank everything, you need lots of endurance buffs

Best way to beat this thing. Is to start running as fast as you can and start dodging. Hallow armor is the best one since it can sometimes evade attacks. But yeah, it’s a run and attack method lol

I think the projectiles might just be set damage that don't actually deal damage but just subtract health basically making defense and damage resistence useless
