Every birth is painful, that includes the one of a country, lets celebrate Canada today. We are not guilty of the past, my child was born here and have every right to be Canadian. Yes it was horrible what happened, but it was a long time ago, nothing can be done to correct it. Many innocent people died all over the world, but we can remember past not live in it. Indigenous communities should focus on the generation of today. They are the ones of needing support, they are creating deeper gap. They want reconciliation, this is not the way. More and more I think it's about mighty dollar.

While my condolences do go out for the indigenous community during this time however that shouldn't stop people from celebrating. I prefer to focus on the positives of what I traditionally remember Canada Day for. If people choose not to celebrate than that's their choice as well. So please be respectful from BOTH perspectives.
