Just a reminder if the job fires you the same day you put in your two weeks its considered retaliation and you can sue them for wrongful termination.

Most jobs dont even deserve getting a two weeks notice when you quit.

Most times, people give their 2 week notice when they're already scheduled to start another job in the near future. If the employer decides to not agree to the 2 weeks and just fire you, you could either start earlier at your next job (if your new employers agree to it) or you have 2 weeks off to prepare for changes in your life.

I was really confused by this skit and then i remembered I'm Canadian 😂 Employers do have to honour two weeks notice here either by allowing you to keep working or by paying you out.

This happend to a guy I worked with. Put in 8 years with the company then they pulled this shit. After that no one notice including myself. Felt good to push back.

Ya that doesn't apply everywhere. You fire me like that where i live youre paying 36 weeks.

No clue but part of not giving a two week notice means you probably won’t have them as a reference right?

I’ll always give a two day notice. “I quit, today!”

"At will" employment works BOTH ways.😅

Do what's right. Leave your boss high and dry as they would you.

Retaliation in a work place is illegal, the employee can sue you for wrongful termination 😅

CONFUSED - the job law guy said its illegal to fire you after you put in your notice, its called retaliation.

In some US states you can then file for unemployment for two weeks.

This is why no one should ever put in a notice. This happens all to often.

I don’t need the two weeks pay. I’ve got enough bagged away plus I get 4k per month from the VA.
I’m giving my two weeks tomorrow. But if they tell me to leave that day, I guess I’m on vacation.

Thankfully, i live in Europe, we have strong employment laws here and at will dismissal is illegal, they have to honour notice and can only fire you with just cause...

There's no risk in just quitting. They don't give you two weeks to fire you, so you don't give them two weeks to quit either

Wouldn't that be wrongful termination, retaliation.
