I've seen enough interviews with the cast of this show to know how important this is for Annie Murphy. Both her and Emily Hampshire were basically ready to give up on their careers when they got these roles, and now look at what it's done for them both. I'm so happy this show has done so well, it's a testament to what good writing and character development, combined with a loving and genuine cast, can all achieve when a network gives them the time and space to create. Every network out there should be taking notes right now, and hopefully hiring creative directors who get it and can stand between the money-grubbing suits in the boardroom and the creators who make such amazing shows as this.
