The Mexican people have continued to honour the San Patricios battalion. Thank you Mexico for not forgetting. God bless Mexico and Ireland.

Irish citizen living in San Francisco very proud of Los San Patricio's. Heroes and brave warriors fighting side by side with their Mexican hermanos against tyranny and imperialism. Heroes in Mexico and Ireland and if they are traitors in the states that just means they did something right.

We don't speak enough about the St Patrick battalion. Thank you Ireland, Scots and Germans who formed it and gave their lives for a loosing cause. No wonder everyone loves the Irish here in Mexico. There is a monument, I want to visit soon. Erin go bragh amigos.

They were 100% mexican, but born in Ireland, and with Irish morality and courage.
They decided to die for Mexico so they are mexicans as I am.
Mexican heroes with Irish culture and courage.
We are proud of them.

I am proud to say I am descended from an Irish man who traveled to San Diego in 1845. He (Philip Crosthwaite) eventually settled in Baja California, Mexico. Every year I come back to this song and never ceases to make me proud. Viva Mexico 🇲🇽 Viva Irlanda 🇮🇪 Viva Los San Patricios!!

Mexico is eternally grateful to those brave Irish men who were reluctant to kill their brothers of faith!
Long live the Saint Patrick Battalion!!!Thank you for fighting against tyranny and for battling on behalf of Mexico. The United States stole half of our territory, and we became foreigners in our own land. However, we gained our Irish brothers.

Ulysses Grant, in his autobiography, observed that the war with Mexico led directly to the American Civil War because the U.S. was fighting to expand slavery. Mexico had banned slavery and Catholics were offended by slavery. Most of the San Patricios sided with Mexico as a matter of conscience. They were the first Americans to fight against slavery.

As a Mexican, it is my honor to say that any son or daughter of Ireland will always have a seat at my table and a roof over his head should he need it.

Los San Patricios and their lesson of heroism will always be well loved and remembered in Mexico.

ERIN GO BRAGH! Viva Irlanda! Viva México!

As an Irishman I am inspired by the self sacrifice in the face of injustice of my countrymen. It's disappointing that their story is not better known here. It seems to be an Irish tradition to ignore the diaspora (unless we need money for guns).
