Why is it important to always turn on the "listen to both verbal and nonverbal cues" mode when talking to someone? Also, when do you think will that be most useful?

It's important to listen both verbal and non-verbal. Because for example your talking to some and you ask him a question and he answer it but he use non-verbal like shaking he head. But you turn your back at him because you thought that he would say a word but not so you thought he did'nt answer question. Thats why it's important to listen both verbal and non-verbal.

It is always important to listen to both because most of the time, what they say and how they act are entirely different. For example, when you ask someone who they like and they respond that they like no one, you can tell if they are lying or not if they had a subtle change in their body language.

Such is important because indeed action speaks louder than words. No one could fool anyone that they could still do their tasks even though their non-verbal cues are saying that they're tired. This model of communication comes in very handy whenever we're speaking in front of a small group. Here, you could see how the individuals at the receiving end reacts towards your talk or maybe towards you, the speaker. Non-verbal cues are just as important as verbal ones. Because here, you could see how they feel just by looking in their eyes, and observing their actions. Example if your crush says she doesn't like you but she blushes everytime you see each other in the corridor, then, she obviously like you! That's just a few of the examples of the Transactional Model of Communication and how is it in any way useful to each and everyone!

It is important to listen to the sender in both verbal and non verbal cues for us to understand what the sender wants to convey and we should avoid yawning when someone is talking because it is disrespecting for the side of the sender.
