Truest mystical aspirations should always lead a person to Unity with Christ, not a separate path that excludes Him, or a perversion in one's thinking that somehow they could become Him on their own.

The issue here, my friend, is that Paul and John were mystics. You are throwing out the whole New Testament, including the gospels with these words.

Jesus demonstrates, teaches, and encourages Unity with the Father. If He is to be taken literally, that is. "Let them be one with me, as you and I are one".

Paul was like you when he started. Theological sound, well trained, full of the tree of knowledge, but he lacked one thing. Jesus. And then he had a mystical encounter with Jesus Himself, after His death, later verified by the disciples of Jesus. He would then go on to teach SPIRITUAL realties, and a mystical faith.

John the Beloved had such a deep relationship with Jesus on earth, that he would later write our greatest mystical biblical book, Revelations borne from his own mystical encounters with God.

What i believe you are referring to is mysticism without relationship, which is easily corrupted if outside of God's Word.

But please, don't tell us to read God's infallible Word, and then ask us to not believe it.

You cant rely simply on a book, let me ask this if you read a book 'how to swim ', would you then know how to swim?, no, you havent even jumped in the water, you have to have direct experience in the water, to swim, not just read about it

1. Mysticism is Transrational meaning it doesn’t deny reason or scripture but acknowledges that god can surpass logic and the mind.

2. Many of the important figures within the Bible were mystical. They did not have a Bible in hand, they relied on direct experiences with god (ie Moses on the Mount)

3. Jesus himself was mystical! Jesus is God, but Jesus emphasized solitude and direct experiences with god during his time in the wilderness

So the Holy Spirit doesn’t dwell within you? Did you metaphorically die with Christ or truly died with Christ? This type of Christianity of yours is gross

I paused for just a moment to engage the term "Christian Mysticism" and realized it's much more proliferate than I thought. I realized it may have fooled me too. I need to approach some friends and let them know. This is dangerous and harmful to the individual christian and the church. Thank you for being faithful and sharing your biblical knowledge. 👣

Please wake up. The second vatican council showed the way of openess but church closed the door. We need a.holistic approach we need to co-operate with nother religious when persecution of christians has already begun..the church has not encouraged contemplative spproaches.people hunger for a physical god experience.why deny it?

This guy obviously does not know what Christian mysticism is. I'm also assuming he's never read any books about Christian mysticism and its roots.

Christian mysticism is the belief that we can have a supernatural experience with God while here on Earth. In other words it's a lifestyle of living close to God, having a closer relationship with God.

Unfortunately the heretical teachings of the Protestant Faith have clouded this idea. How can you trust a denomination that took books out of the Bible to suit their Protestant ideology.

However instead of listening to this lunatic why don't you pick up a book called the roots of Christian mysticism by Paul era.

Because Christian mysticism is found in the New testament. Further in truth the early Christians practice mysticism! To keep it short!

You're too conservative. Karl rahner one of the great theologians said the future Christians have to be mystiics.tpday the charismatic movement give people the taste of God rather than dry liturgy. Yes the mass is great but people want an experience of God a God encounter. The church does not want other waysnto God and tolerate Theresa of avika, etc. today people are.leaving the churches in drives.ypuvre going to open the door for such exits.mysticidm is not a cheap option it requires holiness a search like that of merton. You represent the old defunct school .you will send many Christians to gurus faith healers and the occult. We have even Christians meditation, contemplative prayer etc.
