As an Australian who has no "Dog in the fight as they say" i have quickly come to realise that this has nothing to do with helping Ukraine win but rather "try to weaken Russia" so people were right from the beginning, it's just that the truth slowly but surely comes out. Zelensky said in an interview that Putin is afraid of his own people. The Ukrainian offensive in Kursk was intended to make the Russian people feel the pain of the war in their own country so that they would ask Putin to stop the war. That's what he believed.
However, the effect produced by the attack on Kursk is the exact opposite of what Zelensky had predicted: the Russians are angry and want a toughening of the war. A telltale sign: the number of Russian men enlisting in the army has increased.
