The only powerboat that I built, I was both. Foot throttle and foot engine trim buttons. The other guy was merely an observer.

Many years ago, I had a Ritchie Sutphen race boat that was 33 feet long. I called it rolling thunder. There wasn't other stuff out there called rolling thunder as well and I didn't realize it when I name my boat, rolling thunder, father father Ritchie Sutton's father was the guy who designed PT boats at New Jersey for World War II. I raced my boat for almost 20 years With twin 750 hp motors was one of the most exciting things I've done in my life. I miss it a lot. It just got too expensive after a while. I had to let it go, but it was great fun while it lasted and my friend did the throttles.

Back in the day used to drive it and throttle it at the same time now those were real speed boat racers

This boat is insane! Saw it in oc Maryland. Almost 900hp. Mr. Technology builds some super fast boats.

I would rather be in a closed cockpit! I seen Jack Clark stuff a wave at about 115 and was unharmed

It’s nerve wracking either way the guy running the throttle has to anticipate swells etc and then the driver has to drive great 👍
