No mention of the Dungeon Coach's DC20. Sad.

Wow 2024-2025 might start a WILD golden age for ttrpgs if more players are diversifying what they’re trying out and more of these projects are fine tuned to tastes and design sensibilities

Wonderful list, but I am looking forward to the release of "Dungeon Dwellers." Its is being produced by Reaper Miniatures and is an old school style TTRPG. It is more of a OSR with some new updates and its supported with tons of miniatures from one of the best miniature companies in the world.

2024 making up for the last 3 years. D&D 6th edition won't be the 800 lb gorilla by the end of 2024.

Ooh! I am so excited. The licenseing scandal for DND has opened the way for other TTRPGs. This even makes me excited to make my own game and release it. I noticed that a lot of the games in this video are adaptations of something else. One is Diablo. That got me thinking. What if there was a World of Warcraft TTRPG? That would be so awesome! World of Warcraft comes from the same company as Diablo. That is Blizzard. I can imagine how this would work. There can be the same classes as the regular video game version. There is the same spells and same martial abilities. It would use mana instead of spell slots. It also has rage, energy and focus for martial classes. The attributes would be the same. They may even be expanded to be used outside combat. The biggest draw would have the adventures take place in the world of Azeroth. It can even incorporate Azeroth lore. Designers can use as DND 4E as inspiration. That is the edition that DND tried to make like World of Warcraft. I could probably hombrew this if I really wanted to. I even have major rulebooks for DND 4E. However if an official World of Warcraft TTRPG came out, I would oh so thrilled.

Excellent overview, 2024 is going to be a good crop.

I wouldn't call MCDM the best publisher of 3rd party 5e rules supplement. I think some of their products sometime feel half-baked with a few rules section that are call for the DM to figure it out at his table. I however remain optimistic for their new system as they seem to be testing it out a lot more with a bigger creative team.

I am very interested in the Diablo RPG but I think it can go either way. It have the potential to be very different then D&D with a focus on epic level PC that can slay hundreds of demons with an interesting and intricate item system. But, this could also be a big fail if they don't deliver on that Diablo over-powered combo feeling at the game table.

After reading preliminary review of Candela Obscura, I have a bad feeling about Daggerheart. If it is tailored too much toward streaming and professional player it wouldn't be that fun to play with my friends relaxing on the week-end.

What is interesting in 2024 is to see what new version of D&D 5e will be the best - Wotc D&D 5.1, Kobold Press Tales of the Valiant or Cubicle C7D20. Is there going to be another 5e clone that going to blow the market up and be strictly better than 5.1e? I think it will be hard to beat WotC on production quality but I wouldn't be surprise to see a third party publisher coming up with a better version of 5e rules within the next 2 years.

Others have said it already, but you really slept on DC20 here. So far I think that's the only one I've heard of that could seriously challenge 5e for my group

OMG!! I never thought I would hear Palladium Books mentioned in my current circle of RPG news! I've played Palladium Fantasy since I was in high school back in the 1990's, but it seemed to disappear off of 'popular' news feeds. I've gotten used to going directly to their website for any news on their products and projects. But yeah, they *are* often late getting stuff out. Oh, and they still owe me a coffee mug from my last order!!! 😠

Starfinder 2e, Diablo, Stormlight and Final Fantasy are the most interesting to me.
The mechanics will decide which I purchase of the last three (we already know that Starfinder 2e will be)
