Socket sizes needed: 12mm and 14mm 4:16
Starter bolts are 14mm and terminal nut is 12mm

Make sure you do the top bolt first so you can free spin it out once you’ve gotten it loose. If you do the bottom bolt first the starter will start to move free and cause more difficulty up top

Doing my 2014 tomorrow. I remember when Honda said simple was better. Now they want to complicate things to get most to visit the dealership and rip you a new one. Good job.

Good info, I think the starter on my accord has a short. When I hit the start button it turns the engine a quarter turn then it shuts off power. Battery is fully charged. Prior to this it was intermittently not engaging the flywheel and whirring(that problem seemed to disappear) and now during a freezing rain storm a hard fail . Two bolt R&R away from fixing it, thanks for the video !

From my limited experience putting the bolts back on a Honda starter I find if I tighten the bottom bolt first it lines up the top.

I had some extremely tight bolts that i almost had to grab a cheater bar for, wth were they torqueing those to😂
