Great for keeping carbon buildup down. That could make DI engines much more reliable.

Everybody peeping six stroke engines after Porsche announcement of new one they came up with. 😂

My only concern is that the engine will need to get warm enough to get to and then sustain the instantaneous transition from liquid to vapor.

So if your car gets 40 mpg right now, this would be 56 mpg. If you get 50 mpg, this would be 70 mpg.

Will it be used in motorbike's?
What is the commercial purpose of a 6 stroke engine?

I used to subscribe to Popular Mechanics magazine when I was a teen back in the ‘60’s. Every few months they featured a “Revolutionary new engine design’ that was going to take over the world. I never saw one of them in production. I’ll add this one to the list.

It will not increase efficiency because it will have a cooling effect on the cylinder. That cylinder has to be heated back up to full temperature to burn fuel efficiently.

But it may increase longevity due to running cooler through part of the cycle.

If it does not run more efficiently, the extra stroke is redundant and wasteful.

Clever idea.

moisture destroys engines, how long will it last with water sitting in the cylinders before it needs a rebuild?

So the water could possibly just come from the exhaust, as that is one of the components given off by combustion.

Unfortunately this type of motor it's not viable alternative as electric technology both motor designs and battery storage development increase efficiency that be along with lower maintenance costs do EV increasingly become norm, maybe niche usage where ICE being required that being only have future Possibility.
