I only make more than $1, 000, 000 / yr. How can you expect me to pay the same rate as my assistants??? So unfair. Why should I have to pay for the infrastructure I used to create my wealth? Shouldn't the people I got my money from pay for that? If they want to buy my products they should have to pay for the roads I ship on, the airports. They should pay for the military to protect my stuff.

I once talked to a wealthy guy who was surprised when I said "most people wouldn't care if China or Russia took over the US. Their lives wouldn't change. They'd still go to jobs they don't like in order to barely get by. It's only the wealthy with skin in the game. Yet who fights the wars? He was surprised because he assumed everyone would worry about our system going away, but not true.

So if a construction worker has put a portion of their pay every week into stocks that they spend extensive time researching and risked their capital in a company they believe in one day wants to liquidate their portfolio which might be valued at over a million dollars to say pay off their house or send their kid to college they should be penalized because they made the correct choice in life rather than partying and claiming they are a victim? That is what this plan does, that “million dollars a year” could be a one time payout that someone took 25 years to build and just so happens to realize their gain at once. What entitles other people to that money?
