Another thing that people always forget is that rings do not move slowly. Nearly every film, show, video, etc. shows rings as though they're moving very slowly and so people can travel through them with shuttles. But if this were the case, then the rings would be near invisible because the movement gives the rings their look of bring, well rings. Thus, not only would things have to avoid the ring, but they'll also have to stay clear of the vicinity because all those rocks will likely be going hundreds of miles/kilometers an hour, so even tiny rocks could decimate small satellites. In fact, this speed thing applies to nearly everything in space, ven the earth, the sun, and the entire milky way.

Well, If the earth had rings for good portion of the time it was around then wouldn't the animals evolve new ways of navigation then and also would the plants evolve so they didn't need as much sun light to survive.
