"No one would have to know." Her desparateness to be with him even if it means selling herself short. It's so sad and relatable. We've all been there. That human need to be loved/wanted in return will sometimes make us agree to just about anything.

0:55 "no one would have to know" that broke my heart. She just want someone to love her. Poor thing:(

She reminds me of my first GF in a lot of ways. She had this beauty that no one noticed at first but once you took the time you realized she was simply amazing. One thing I really like in this series is the silence and space. It gives you time to really feel the moment. Few if any other movies or shows make you vividly recall those first awkward moments when you realize someone has allowed you into their world and wants you to be there. Anyhow great show and so perfectly acted.

Wow best series ever, the raw emotion, the lack of connunication at times, the awkward silence, the reservations, the mix-ups, the love and understanding. Pure wow and beautifully pulled off by these 2 actors. Felt like I was invading a real relationship than being a specator of the series.

Marianne's face when she admits to never having been kissed was so lovely. What is hard to take is Connells "don't tell anybody at school". The shows' differentiator is the feeling that you are watching real people, but I find it hard to believe that Connell wouldn't have instantly fallen in love with her right there and then and would have faced down the bullies at school. He was certainly physically capable of that.

Amongst so many scenes that were so beautiful, Mariannes face as she walked through the corridor to greet Connell who had arrived to tell her about inviting Rachel to the Debs the day after telling her "he really loved her " absolutely creased me. I was shouting at the TV at that point!!

Those awkward "first kiss moments". The before, the after, and omg that first kiss with the person your heart races for. Those unrepeatable butterflies in the stomach. Such a beautifully performed scene, such an amazing show.

The sex scenes only became more passionate and loving as the show went on

This was such a great mini series. They did an excellent job adapting this from book to screen. Paul and Daisy had such incredible on screen chemistry, they captured the characteristics of Connell and Marianne so perfectly.

He’s so rude about the “don’t tell anyone at school thing”.

Usually not into shows like this but man it was so well acted. I could relate to so much to both of the leads in different ways. It was just so well done. The music, the acting, the locations. Loved it. Some people said the end was generic but I thought it was beautiful. The time jumps made the end so satisfying.

I approached this with some trepidation thinking it would be all teenage angst and adolescent fumbling. I was pleasantly surprised. Very sensitively done and quite believable when I think back to my teenage years oh so long ago.

Has anybody noticed that he always said he loved her but she said to it him only once where they behaved completely opposite. Her love was very evident where as his wasn't

Most of the book happen when they're at uni I believe and the actors are 21 and 24 afaik so like, chill. Not everyone looks the same at the same ages.
