Saving parts from a '76 Dodge Aspen R/T

The poor car was rusted to shreds but I got a lot of good parts off it. I also learned a ton of stuff about how these cars were made and assembled so I'm better prepared to restore one next time. This is also the first time I've pulled an engine from one of these cars so it's cool to see how easy the front k-frame (engine cradle) is to remove. Literally just six bolts hold the entire engine, transmission, steering and suspension system in place. I'm just going to use a four-point hoist next time because that's the correct way to lift the body off the engine. The 318 v8 should fit nicely in my Duster when the time comes

Great video!! I really enjoyed watching you take everything from this poor old R/T. These F Bodies are getting quite rare, and it's smart to save as many parts as possible. I've bought two wagons for parts. One in Virginia, and one in Oklahoma. I stripped them for the parts that I wanted (not nearly as much as you took) and then left the carcasses for the sellers who were glad to get extra $$ for scrapping the remains. The best score that I got was the cool plaid Hillcrest interior in excellent shape from the wagon in Oklahoma. It was worth the drive from Pennsylvania to get that! Both times I took everything that I could stuff into my pickup. Love your helper cat too!! I just subscribed - thanks for a great video!

Good idea getting parts from this Aspen, they’re getting hard to come by after all these years.

The later Aspens seem to be more durable than the earlier ones, I have a 1980 Aspen that my grandpa bought new and it's been driven regularly and parked outside under trees since then, the body is still in perfect shape, no rust anywhere, just chips in the paint and that's it. Even the floor and trunk pans still have the original paint on them with no blemishes. Mopar must've caught onto the problem and done something to fix it by late production.

Cool 😂 ! These F body Aspen/Volares are getting harder and harder to get, my parents owned a 76 Aspen sedan These were mechanically reliable but the body hardware was the pits . We held on to our Aspen for a long time before scrapping it .😢

Actually saw the front end sag when you let the jack down to set it on the wood block

Hey, I recently saw your video about you passing out, and noticed that the comments were turned off probably because of people not reading the description and assuming you just fell asleep and it’s good to hear that you’re doing better but, what is the condition/ cause of that happening? I was just wondering what it was called and the possible symptoms. Thanks in advance.
