Nice one! The depth control is, more or less, Randall’s version of the resonance (low end dialler) or ENGL’s “depth” feature. This is a beastly amp with that 400 watt power section and a full tube pre amp for one of the channels, but also extremely versatile with the EQ and tone shaping features.

The Tight response on solid state amps, even these with a tube in the preamp section is unmatched. I don't hate tube amps at all, but I hear the tones you nail and im just blown away. Fuck yes dude!

I klick myself for selling all the randalls I had, especially because they went for peanuts... This one is definitely on the gear bucket list!
Great video BTW!

A rare and quality calibre video as there aren’t all that many demos of this unit. Anyway, it is a phenomenal amp with an insane amount of gain. I’ve got the standard version, which is slightly different in terms of EQ curve, but the graphic EQ on these things can be used to compensate for any differences.

fkn SIHK Randall Quad. I have the stripped down Randall T2 which is awesome but this thing is another step beyond. Wish I could find one in Oz!

The sound is big, I really like this kind of distortion. Amott had the sound and I'm so sad that he changed for Marshall amps.

Random question for you. I bought one of these new when they came out and still have it yet I have unfortunately always been plagued by reliability issues with her. No doubt she absolutely does what she needs to when she works, but starting from scratch because I don't know much about innerworkings of these; when you kick yours on does the fan inside the amp turn on immediately? I remember it being quite loud just sitting at idle and now my fan doesn't come on at all when I turn it on left in standby. (No sound out of her at all when I try to play it). Only the mosfet power tube in the back lights up after turning from standby to play. Seeing as this is the moat recent playthrough video of one of these you'd do me a giant solid if you took the dust caps off and could tell me if the 3 front 12ax7ac5's were lighting up as well as the ECC81. Also recall the v2 symbol lighting up as well after turn on. It no longer does so.. Just trying to find where to start in diagnosing this booger. Thanks in advance even if this is never even seen 🤘.

You always have cool riffs! Btw have you ever played a RANDALL CYCLONE I seen no good quality videos on one I think it would be a cool video idea!!

What's up brokenlevel?
A little info on that series of amps seems to have been designed by Bruce Egnater. As well the T2 and Warhead X2. That cab should have vintage 30s in it. Since you can mike cabs now you should demo your other heads on your cabs now.

I think the solid state worked better in the context of your mix. Interesting amp no doubt I’m sure that’s a nice cab too what’s it loaded with? Keep on 🤘

Glad to see you back! What a gem of an amp! Do you know what speakers are in the cab?

Would be awesome if you could make another video with soloing on this amp. I came to a conclusion that I love solidstate amps for rhythm parts BUT need tube sound for soloing. I didn't know that V2 has this unique feature of having two channels in completely different architecture.

Would you choose this over the RH300 G3? I have a RH300 G3 and was curious if the V2 is a better rig.

You need to wear a Slipknot masks on a day like this to play that

Good afternoon! I live in Russia, now a totalitarian country again under an iron curtain. We had a little time to live in a free country and managed to get some good amplifiers. Now there is a seller who can sell V2 very cheaply. Does he look like this ninja? How do I understand they are the same inside? Thank you! I want a second head because I'm afraid for my r80es. It's a pity to torture him every time :)))
