This is a much better explanation than I've heard before

"that's unfair, you changed the result by measuring it!"~futurama

Love how he added the spiffing brit on "exploit"

This is actually a really good explanation of the Heisenberg uncertainty principle.

Didn't know being in a dark room made your voice sound muffled 😂

Neil as a teen: "I don't care how often I clean that table, that damn electron keeps hiding and sneaking back in the dark.

Finally Neil says something I haven't heard a million times before. Nice simple explanation of an extremely bizarre phenomena

Heisenberg is pulled over. The cop asks "do you know how fast you were going?"

"No idea officer"

"You were 30 over the speed limit!"

"Great, now I have no idea where I am! Thanks officer!"

Holy crap in all that scientific terminology I ACTUALLY understood WTH he was talking about, but made it to where I actually wanted to listen to HIM explain it too LMAO.!!

I love this guy.
He's not always 100% accurate, but he is *always* impassioned, engaging, & accessible. Details can b sorted & corrected later, as needed.

So basically we will NEVER observe the universe as it truly is without disturbing it

Joe was asking if Neil wanted anything for lunch and this was his reply.

I have heard the 'more I measure its position, the less I then know its position' statement may times. Never really understood it till now.

But this isn't the explanation to Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, rather the principle was even formed firstly due to calculation from diffraction of light from single slit experiment.

Such a good explanation on why the double slit experiment is the way it is

That's actually a fallacious explanation, even if Heisenberg itself used it. At least that's what my physics professor said. The real explanation is that particles like the electron are made out of an infinite sum of waves, and waves are continuous in space so the axioms of points are fallacious. Basically knowing precisely both the position and the velocity simply doesn't make mathematically sense because of the concepts of position and velocity itself
