Never realized until seeing this how frightening it would be to encounter a bear like this considering there are even much larger ones than this.

That is not Clyde, Clyde was the largest Kodiak bear ever he stood over 10ft tall and weighed 2400lbs and his smaller brother is on display in the Anchorage Airport in Alaska. Clydes brother stood at 10ft and 1800lbs. Clyde lived in the Bizmark Zoo in North Dakota most of his life where he was well taken care of.

This looks like the grizzly bear that was at the Aerial Port Squadron at Elmendorf AFB. in Anchorage, Alaska. I was stationed there in the mid-80s.

I've encountered black bears outside my home before, but they don't get very big in my area, usually. This would be a nightmare.

As an Aleut male that hails from Kodiak, Alaska....I don't recall that tune played in the post ever being sung. Think you got us confused with Alabama.

Bears are also somewhat humanoid shaped.

What happened to it's front claws? It looks like they've been cut off. Maybe it was mounted without them. They don't retract like a big cat. Just wondering.
