Man, the standard 15 is actually worth the upgrade. in my opinion, due to the lackluster iPhone 14, people appreciate the regular 15 a lot more. The regular 14 just dumbed down what was great about the pro iPhone 13, but I feel like the 15 actually improves on what the 14 pro had.

I downgraded myself from 15 pro max to regular 15. I am extremely happy with my choice. No regrets! I am even happy as a hobby mobile photographer.

A 120hz screen is the only reason I get the pro all the time. I have Samsungs that have it and will not sacrifice the snappiness of that. Other than that, the regular 15, 14, or even the 13 are all great. The day they put a 120hz screen on the base models, is the day I start buying the base models.

The major reason to get a Pro model is what most reviewers doesn't mention: "Lidar Auto Focus Assistance" for shooting photo or video especially in lower lighting conditions within normal range. Lidar has been implemented throughout the modem cars as safety devices to "SEE" during driving so the ability to see and lock onto the correct subject is far more important than sensor size, image size, image stabilization, zoom range or software portrait mode feature in any camera system though they are nice to have. Unless one only take 3X~5X distance photos none of the features matters when none of the camera lenses are not able to lock focus onto the subject within normal range. Without the Lidar sensor the standard models simply straggles and misses the critical moments that may never be happens again (don't remember anyone ever praise me for a "nice blurry/out of focus shoot"!!!).

The iPhone 15 Pro actually has an upgraded Lidar sensor that read with much more dense information that the iPhone 14 Pro even at 15 feet distance. Imagine what that would translate when taking photos and videos. I went from a iPhone 12 Pro to a iPhone 13 & 13 Mini and the 12 Pro locks onto the subject way faster and accurately every time than the none Pro models (more like frustrating indoor experiences). Got the 15 Pro now and back to the happy land of fast & accurate sharp images & videos. 😉

I’ve never went with the pro. Unless your into photography or are a content creator, I don’t see the point to pay up to 400 dollars more for something most never use

99% of people aren’t really going to care about the slightest difference in video stabilization, what these cameras can do these days is amazing already. I saved over $600 by buying a brand new 15 third party. The slight boost in performance doesn’t remotely justify the huge cost difference.

I went from 13 pro max down to the standard 15.. for me I just don’t really use any of the features of the pro models. I’m not a gamer, not a photographer, i don’t transfer tons of a files.. I also think the action button is a gimmick. The only thing I miss slightly is the 120Hz display, but unless you use the phones side by side it’s not even that noticeable.

I cannot fathom buying a 60 hz phone since ProMotion. Also I thought I loved the blue Pro initially even though you suggested natural titanium Brandon, but looking at both made me switch camps immediately!

iPhone 15 is still an upgrade. I have never enabled 120HZ refresh rate even when I’ve had Samsungs. I had an iPhone 12 before moving up to the 15. So, the camera was still a great upgrade. Love the Dynamic Island but it’s nothing special or a reason to upgrade. I just got my iPhone 15 a month ago (late to the party) and people are already talking about the 16. Feels like I can never keep up 🥵 I’ll be sticking with my 15 for years though

Everyone hyped the whole 15 and 15pro lineup way too much. When I heard the rumors of 16pro getting larger, I knew the 15s were just an average upgrade year. There was also no camera hardware updates to the 15pro. Yes some software, but the only hardware spec came to the 15promax, 5x. I have a 13pro and a DSLR. I’m not trying to buy an iPhone for the camera every year anymore. It’s such a waste of money.
