This is an alternative version of Dixie's Land and not the national Anthem of the CSA. The original lyrics are not about the war since it was written by a guy from Ohio in the 1850's well before the war.

I have very, very distant relatives who fought in the civil war in the 25th Louisiana Marching division. They didn't fight for slavery, that was one thing they hated, but everything else the CSA fought for, they fought for. Their graves even have the CSA symbol to prove it. I'm not proud for the side they fought for, but why they did, I am proud of. They couldn't get a job, they were all 3 brothers, and so they joined the CSA army. Fought in many battles, mostly light skirmishes. Except for the siege of Vicksburg. 2 of them died there, other one was sent home because he was wounded. I'm glad the CSA lost, but I remember what they fought for, and at the end of the day, I'm proud of them only, not the cause.

I don’t know why but I think why I cry when I hear this is because it is what American means and what is should be and it is a part of my southern history and they are trying to erase all of the southern history when they shouldn’t be this is a showcase of what dedication and the old American way.And what it should be.
