Small shout out for Pat Travers "Putting It Straight". Saw him in Denver a couple months ago and he still "kicks my ass".

Thanks, Jeff, for bringing up 2112! I'll always remember the first time I heard it. At 16 yrs old, in Nov 1980, a buddy of mine talked me into going to the local Sound Warehouse to get this weird looking album (actually, I bought the cassette so we could listen in the car) by some band called Rush that I had never heard of. We got in the car, I popped the tape in, and he said "You have to crank it up, you can't listen to Rush quietly". Luckily I had a pretty loud system for those days. 3 minutes into it I knew this was my favorite band. They still are. That was the album that made me realize I needed to learn how to play guitar. The first guitar riff I learned was the intro on A Passage to Bangkok Yes, I am one of those poor Rush nerds who got so much grief back in the day! 43 some odd years later...it was so worth it!

I’m pretty sure my first TSO show was Angus C and Al Pitrelli. It was SO SO good. I’ve seen a lot of epic shows. That particular TSO show was really surprising as far as the fire and bombs and lights. I’ve seen KISS many many times. That TSO show was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Great lists. Always been partial to live albums with great guitarists, making my faves - Made in Japan, Strangers in the Night, & Live and Dangerous

However, the following albums just don't get enough love:

Stray Dog - Stray Dog. "Fasten your seat belt!". One of the heaviest albums of all time, with some of my favorite playing and tones ever.
Be Bop Deluxe - Futurama. You immediately know you're in for something extraordinary.
Montrose - Montrose. STP burst blasting some Rock Candy...
Queen - Queen II. First Queen album I heard. Mind blowing. Still my favorite.
Blue Oyster Cult - Secret Treaties. Heard them perform this album live on radio (In Concert, I believe) when it came out. Immediately went and bought it. Buck Dharma rules.
Could keep going, but gonna end it with Mountain - Climbing or Nantucket Sleighride. Junior - one pup, two knobs and all the tones.

for the first 10 minutes I was reading the title as "top-heavy" albums. not understanding wtf that would be 🤣

Jeff did u have really long hair as well in the Anthrax, Overkill days. I for sure had 😂. Pls share some pics!!! I never got into any Schenker stuff, although I am from GER. Much too soft back in the day 😅

I took a lesson from a guy about our age. I told him I liked Steve Cropper and the Meters. He never heard of them! 😂😂. Only took one lesson. 😂

What’s a “top heavy” album? Very little bass with tons of treble? Or something made by Dolly Parton or Samantha Fox? 😜

Star Trek or LOTR? I just 5 minutes ago saw a video of Leonard Nimoy sing a song about Bilbo Baggins. Weird
