I love how much detail they put in to this film even bits they really didn't need to like the black, red and white ribbons Captain Stanhope and Lieutenant Osborne have on their backs, they were only given to officers of the East Surrey Regiment who went over to France in 1914, just a little way of showing how long they have been in the war, or that Second Lieutenant Trotter has a 1911 as his side arm rather than a Webley, its never mentioned but he is meant to have risen from the ranks and decided to blow his 1st officers pay on one.
