If you lose fish on the switch over. I suggest to lean back into it a bit and keep the tip up as you transfer over. The idea behind it; Keeps hook deep and pulling in an upper direction. Lean allows you to keep tension. Lastly, allows you to keep reeling and/or gives a space to run line again.
