890 Jump: A Luxury Carrier? | Testing what fits

So there's been a bit of downtime since XenoThreat has ended, and I decided to have some fun with the 890 Jump. Even though it only has a relatively small hangar, you can use it to carry a whole lot of ships. Thanks for watching!

One time my org and I loaded a ballista in the back, then took it to space. We then rolled it out in zero-g and relocated it onto the hangar. We then setup the 890J with the torpedoes from the ballista as part of a blockade with a Mantis and a few other ships between Olisar and Yela.

Lol! I could see a pirate Hammerhead thinking a 890J was easy prey, then that Eclipse pops out and starts firing those massive class 9 missiles

I love that ship, I load it up all the time like that lol. If you limit spawning 2 ships per location you can get more without them vanishing, like 890 and one ship at grim hex and then go to a station somewhere and get two more ships. Same method I used to get 6 merlins in a carrack. Cool vid!

I really love the Eclipse idea! It makes for an amazing "heist" Movie. Instead of smuggling something OUT of a Casino, you basically smuggle something in somewhere WITHIN a (flying) Casino :)

I've tried and tested, the Prospector fits in the hangar and hangar doors can shut perfect. You could also fit a few merlin each side too if you wanted.

I agree with The Space Trough, good video and damn that ship looks good. I got a 890J myself and it's a real thirsty ship to operate.

Just tried turning this into a mining/scanning ship and managed to fit the MPUV Personnel and Cargo both off the lift along with the Prospector with room to spare in the hangar. I then got the Reliant Tana on the top landing pad with the Terrapin behind it. I ran into problems when I tried to get ROC's in the cargo bay. I was able to get one in there when the 890 and everything on or in it disappeared. If you're doing this definitely don't do it solo because the 890 shouldn't disappear with someone on board and the ROC's shouldn't bounce around as much on the elevator with someone inside

Some comments from a 890j user.
You are right, keeping one driver in vehicle sit avoid any glitch in lift.
In the 890j top hangar you can see marked 2 place for ships, if you are in Grimhex any third or more vessels are consodeed as parking infraction.
Last thing you didn't do is to fit 2 or e ballista on top hangar. You put them on lift and in space you transfer them.

And i even have concepts for weaponizing it.

3 Arrows is a potent combo. Would love to see the Origin ships have practical uses outside of touring.

I desperately want them to add the ability to pre-load vehicles into hangars. I'd use the 890 a lot more if I could actually launch more useful ships from it. Obviously the 890 also needs to not despawn when I fly down to a planet though, so hopefully persistence this year or early next year.

I wonder if a Vanguard frame with its wings back could fit on that front hangar pad. Also; it might be practical to have ships in the hangar and some on the doors if they have the same gravity effect as the lift and the ship hangar.

While the elevator is still what it is, I have to say I did quite a few trips around with my Constellation Andromeda, and the URSA was no longer the big problem it used to be in older patches. 3.12.1 did fix the problem for me indeed.

NIce ideas...No doubt that will happen some time in the verse...somebody will send a couple of those in pirate territory to lure them in, then open up all hangars - and at the same time attack with an extra squadron from external...total suprise...the first time at least.

For anyone wondering the RSI Scorpius easily fits in the 890 hangar, just be ware of how the scorpius is pretty long so you can hit the front or back if your not careful
