I had a 1998 ZX7R back in my mid twenties in 2004-2006 and I absolutely loved its power delivery and handling. Fast forward to 2022, I am searching for another ZX7R for a deal and I instead run across a 2008 Kawi ZX10R with a bad fuel pump and lost title that I got for $1200. I get it all sorted out and get a bonded title and it has fantastic power but it feels twitchy and is scary at redline, especially after a tune from 2 Wheel Dyno Works. I absolutely love the insane raw power but it's a workout on twisty mountain roads so I keep searching my for first love, which is a ZX7R and I found it a few days ago. It's a 2003 ZX7R with 24K miles that has sat outside for about 8 years and needs a good cosmetic restoration. I am so excited to get the ZX7R restored and sell the ZX10R!

Still the most beautiful sport bike ever made. The only part that looks a little dated is the tail and the exhaust. My dream bike in my locker in high school. I bought a Gixxer 750 instead for my first bike, went to dirt for years and rode KTMs, now that I’m a dad I decided to buy an Indian FTR 1200…..but I WILL find one of these and make it my own, one afternoon when the wife is distracted. Do you think she’d notice a new green bike in the garage? I could always plead ignorance: “I don’t know how THAT got here honey. Nor why I have been sneaking down at night to stare at it for 30 mins either…” 😂

The zx7 is a pre srad era bike going up against the gsxr 1000 k3, its a lamb to the slaughter.

I have one i have converted to a track day bike. I stuffed a ZX9R engine in it, that really helps pulling this fat lady along. Plus of course shedding alot of weight, not just lights and other stuff, but ZX10R wheels, front and rear end also. But in stock form she is heavy and sloooow.

I wish i'd chosen this instead of the new 636 i bought when i passed my test in 2002....which is still lying in a sorry state since i dumped it in the shed for a new fireblade in 2008. One day i will make an effort to resurrect that pile of rubber and aluminium lol
