As a former casino dealer, the casinos DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU AND WANT YOU TO BANKRUPT YOURSELF. I had to keep dealing to this elderly woman who came in the day before and was completely coherent. The next day, that same lady sat at my table and kept asking where her daughter was when I never seen her come in w anyone, and her playing Blackjack was erratic and irrational. There’s basic strategy in Blackjack to all my non gamblers and she was clearly playing terribly, even going f as far as to ask me if she should hit when any other time I’ve seen her, she played normally. I told my supervisor she was acting funny and he literally shrugged his shoulders and told me to keep dealing. I told her to stop putting money up because it was too much for me to see her like that

My ex husband is a gambling addict. When married he would come home from work, pick a fight so he would have an excuse to leave. Then he would go gamble playing pool, bet with a bookie, drive hours to find a casino. He would take his own vacations to Las Vegas. I Finally divorced him when I found out he had opened credit cards in my name and maxed them out and had stopped paying the mortgage. I found out when the VA called to tell us the house was going into foreclosure. He had been hiding the collection letters for everything in his car. I moved out with the kids and filed for divorce. He still gambles, but it isn't my problem anymore.

It reminds me of how Celine Dion used to perform in Vegas while her husband and manager René gambled up to a million a week at Caesars and Bellagio. She performed there for years while René was a massive gambler, just too rich for it to be called an addiction by the media, it was viewed as just a quirky hobby. He would negotiate her residency to include paying off debts.

My son was a Bruno mars impersonater then added MJ and teaching himself all the dance moves from both MJ and Bruno Mars! Bruno Mars Even invited my then 4 year old son to perform with and meet Bruno in his Toronto stop of his 24k magic tour on September 22 2018 we only did the meet and greet because my son was to scared to dance and sing in front of all the people but Bruno was so excited to see this 4 year old boy who would teach himself every move to his music videos choreography he spent over an hour playing and dancing with him and he has checked in on him a few times! From that alone I will always love that man for how happy he made my boy!! Hands down such a sweet kind soul

"A bar may be liable for over-serving if a bartender continues to serve drinks to a customer who is very clearly intoxicated to the point that he or she may be a danger to themselves or others." I work at a huge casino in my state as a housekeeper and the hotel will just keep giving you free nights to come back and play more if you’re a regular. I see blood on pillows and adult diapers piled up in trash cans on a near daily basis. These casinos prey on wealthy, especially elderly, people who will just keep playing because it’s become their lives.

We have a section of a hallway in the building set aside for gaming chairs that people have soiled themselves on because they don’t want to stop playing. Casinos are a literal hell on earth imo

ironically bruno just posted a photo of him and anderson together. so it seems they’re friendly but the future of silk sonic is up for debate. i’ve been a bruno mars fan for almost all my life- it’s well known that he’s had gambling and cocaine/substance issues for a while now. while i do see the possibility that MGM could be exploiting him i also think it’s very plausible that he actively chooses to stay in residency’s/ the casino environment. i hope it doesn’t end up being his downfall because he’s incredibly talented and has created some of the best music of this generation

As someone who lived in Vegas and worked in the casinos this is an open secret. I've heard rumors the contract says they can basically extend his residency indefinitely as long as he is in debt to them, and he cannot stop gambling. I also don't think people realize that most artists who have a residency at Vegas it is not of their own will or for THEIR convenience.
