The FAMCO Butterfly Damper is used as a back draft damper for heat exchangers, exhaust systems, solar heating systems and other intake or exhaust applications where a powered damper is not needed. This damper works in both horizontal or vertical positions and the foam seal provides minimal air leakage. Due to its unique design it opens easily with normal air flow and closes with gravity.

Can you add this to the Flexible Ducting hose it self ?or does it have to go in the aluminum tube ?

This the first damper I've seen with any kind of an attempt at providing a seal, which is what I have been looking for. I have a problem of cold air leaking out of my bathroom when the fan is not on (at a rate enough to make a piece of tape on the venting end to flail like a telltale). Would this stop, or significantly reduce, that kind of draft out as well when the fan is not engaged so that I'm not continuously losing cold air in the warmer months?
