You shouldn't be allowed to build residential homes within a mile from the coast. It blocks access, it prevents ppl and animals from access, camping in such. Everyone else that can't access, from fencing and private property have to pay for it when it floods. When hurricanes raise the water level every year and smack into the coast then the storm breaks up over land. Lakes rivers turn into theme parks, lawn chemicals leach into the water, animals can't get a drink and everyone inland has to drive 20 miles, then pay to park at a jam packed boat yard, with nearly any access or forest. It is sick, garbage everywhere from property owners when they get destroyed. A small area should be dedicated to residential and commercial public property. The rest should be woods, so everyone can enjoy valuable natural resources and not some old property owner limited to their one spot that ends up getting bored or too busy working to enjoy it. Let them blow away and stop rebuilding them. The government and state needs to buy the property up and give it back to the public.
