What Coastal Landforms are formed by Deposition?

preview_player
Показать описание
Along the coastline the waves, currents, wind and any rivers entering the sea all work together to transport sediment.
Whenever waves, rivers and wind lose their energy, deposition occurs. Along coastlines this can result in the formation of features such as beaches, dunes, spits and tombolos. Some of the main processes causing the transportation and deposition of sand include longshore drift and dune formation.
Most footage in this video was taken on the North Coast of New South Wales, Australia.

The technical terms are very helpful. Having seen the formation of sand dunes over years and now the rapid disappearance of whole dunes and sand coastlines, I wonder if you have a opinion on "off shore sand dredging" and the effects it might have on coastlines. Cheers.
