I GOT MARRIED! Asa and I were married on Friday, Oct 1st, and today we'll give you a BTS look at the wedding week prep and wedding day! Would you ever wear white to a wedding? I wanted to flip some old traditions on its head, and really make the wedding our own. Asa and I asked guests to arrive wearing white or light neutrals, then my wedding dress had light purple and light grey in it. Yes, I wanted my dad to walk me down the aisle, but my mom is also my idol, as is Brooklyn the best twin ever. Dad told me he didn't feel that I was "his property" to give away, which made me feel perfectly fine about walking myself down the aisle. Asa and I also agreed to make a new last name for the BOTH of us using the legacy of our last names. McKnight-Howard

I started the weekend getting all the last-minute errands done before family & friends flew into town. The wedding rehearsal was on Thurs morning, then the wedding rehearsal dinner hosted by Asa's family later that night. This was a very emotional night, as each parent, siblings, and best friend took the time to share a few words about Bailey & Asa! It was supposed to rain most of the day of the wedding, so we had to make a judgement on whether to keep it outside or move everything inside. The forecast was for 60% chance of rain. I took a gamble to hold it outside regardless, and we all prayed that the rain situation would resolve itself. We had rain for about 45 minutes two hours before the wedding... then the weather was BEAUTIFUL!

I had an early morning with hair and makeup in the Bride Room, along with my bridesmaids and moms. I held my "First Look" at with why dad, which was super emotional! Then it was Asa's turn. We are saving the for the official wedding video next week! Then, the guests arrived, all dressed in white or light colors.

John Luke Robertson, Asa's cousin, officiated the wedding and Brooklyn was my bridesmaid with Willie Robertson Jr (also a cousin) as Asa's best man.

After the ceremony, we had a mocktail hour before the reception/party started. We hired a live band, Emerald City Band, that totally ROCKED the place! The father/bride dance, and mother/groom dance were so much fun, but the groomsmen dance was the BEST WE'VE EVER SEEN!

Then the parents shocked us with one FINAL SURPRISE. Be sure to watch to the end!
