Blues fan here, first vid of yours I've watched. Thought you got most of it pretty spot on, the club's been in decline for years and years, we've used miracles to avoid the drop before, and to be fair I'm just glad when we did finally go we went under these owners.

People will look at the Rooney decision and make their own minds up, but for blues fans it's more positive than it's been for most of my memory as an early 20's fan. Okay, Brady is mostly a figure for promotion and exposure as much as I can tell, and okay, the new stadium complex would be amazing but ambitious, but if we look outside of that, we've got plenty of reasons to be positive:

1) They've already invested £30m into the infrastructure at the stadium and training grounds. The stadium needed the stands repairing, but to say they gave it a lick of paint is an understatement. They did do that, but also completely ripped out the reception, turned several boxes into an top class bar for hospitality, revamped the home dressing room completely, and completely changed the outside of the kop stand to look really good now. I could list all the things they've done but it'd be a book, and this summer it'll rise to around £55m invested in infrastructure with work already underway to fix the PA system, add in wifi, re-do a load of the hospitality, create a new bar under the kop, create two fanzones outside the ground and more. This all, by the way, for a ground they plan to leave in the next 5-7 years.

2) They've recognised the importance of the fans, putting on ticket offers when possible (both Norwich and Coventry at home were basically £15 a ticket anywhere in the ground), they continue to put money behind bars around the ground at home but even on some away days too. They've opened up supporters clubs to allow fans a voice and opportunities to meet people at the club like the CEO, play on the pitch at St Andrews, etc. And they've put on quarterly "Open House" meetings for a reduced number of fans to attend and see their plans for the club unveiled (this is where the stadium news was announced). These are also streamed in their entirety free for all fans to watch.

3) They've massively increased the revenues of the club from what they were, recognising that the old owner's approach of cutting costs was killing the club where they focused on increasing revenue. This is included in big sponsorship deals with Undefeated, an american streetwear brand (that now also sells some mint Blues merch), and the Knighthead parent company to invest up to almost £10m a year on the FFP books depending on social media impressions (works great when you have someone like Tom Brady on board and Paik Seung-Ho playing for you drawing plenty of impressions from Korean fans). They said recently that (had we stayed in the league) we were on track to have the highest revenues in the championship outside of parachute payment clubs by the end of next season, allowing us to spend more on higher quality players.

4) Finally, as I know this is a long read, they publicly recognised their mistake in timing when sacking Eustace to appoint Rooney, and vowed to "never disrupt positive momentum ever again". In fact, this question was raised at the open house and they could've ignored it but actively chose to respond to it and own their mistake. They also noted the improvements to the process of making such decisions in an effort to never repeat a mistake like that.

We may have gone down, but we have every reason in the world to be optimistic about the future under our owners, beyond the flashy headlines.

I mean fair play, the blues board said they'd get out of the championship this season, and they delivered!

Hiring Wayne Rooney has to be the dumbest decision in their recent history.

What's weird is that Hull City looked at what happened to Birmingham City and were like "Hold my beer". Reached 7th place with Rosenior after some dismal seasons prior, and now they've sacked Rosenior and will probably be right back down the bottom the table next season

The thing is too. Relegation could potentially be a great thing for them. They've got a chance to rebuild, and come back stronger. Sure, not everyone can have that. But it'll give a chance of Blues to rebuild, and get better. Just look at Ipswich, they spent years in the Championship, got relegated, and now they're in the PL. Again, not all stories end good. But it shows, relegation isn't the end, it could potentially, be the start of something great.

I'm a rare Villa fan who wasn't happy to see the Blues go down. They're our rivals but I want them up in the Premier League with us. Want the derby days back, and it'd just be better for the city having two top teams in the Prem. Hope the owners turn it around next season

Birmingham city fan here, I’ve been watching your content for a while, well said and spoken mate like always. I am a younger supporter of the club so the first season I remember going to a match was is 16/17. I’ve been supporting the club and watching games for a while but never really took a major interest in it. This season was where it clicked for me, I’d check the score every week I knew the squad and I got really involved in the sport. Anyway, although I don’t know much before 16/17 What I will say is it was coming, we were going to something happpen to us eventually and through lots of events, having 6 mangers all with a diffent/modified style of play can definitely make it’s harder. But great video none the less. We will be back UTB

"Birmingham City won the League Cup in 2011 and got relegated from the Premier League that same year."
Two years later, Wigan Athletic won the FA Cup and got relegated from the Premier League in just 3 days. Both teams have since then never made a Premier League return.

I'll never forget watching that Carling Cup win on the BBC in 2011.

As a Blues fan you've hit the nail on the head, its been such a rollercoaster of emotions season and that final day was heart breaking but also gave a sense of hope that we might come back with some life, would also be nice to see us win a league. Might be the slap in the face we needed.

11:45 that image is taken out of context. It was a late night where Rooney was meeting dozens of fans at our "Open House" events. This event went on til around midnight.

Even as a Baggies fan, i was sad to see them go down. As much as we hate each others clubs in the west midlands, there is a sense of enjoying each others company as all four of us bounce around the top two divisions in the country. Without Blues in the mix, it simply won't feel the same :/

Who in their right mind would appoint someone like Wayne Rooney who is not cut out to be a manager?? Now I know why BCFC deserved to be relegated to League One.

As a Wolves fan, me and my dad didn't celebrate them getting relegated, it was abit sad seeing how the club has suffered so many things. It was like watching a colossus crumbling down into pieces. everything didn't go the way they wanted in the last matches, and for the first time ever since 1995, they are now down to league 1. Hopefully they'll come back to the championship league

I don’t understand how Birmingham screwed this up and the funny thing is this was never even Tom Brady’s fault

3:50 - Just on this as well, we were relegated on 39 points. Since the 2011 season, no other team has been relegated when achieving that amount of points. If you had 39 points, you would have been safe in every single season since
