I found a unicorn! I was also a WP user! WP was great hardware, and it's a shame it didn't work out. It was simultaneously ahead of its time and behind the curve. Most of the devs that didn't want to bring their work over to the platform didn't see the need to, which is why universal apps and their intention to make iOS and Android apps run on the platform was pushed a couple years back. If I recall correctly, Candy Crush (or maybe it was Threes?) was one of the first apps that showed it was already working. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to get devs excited, but that's also because most people weren't paying attention.
Optimization of app performance was great, not to mention the efficient storage space management. After moving over to Android last year (also because I "had" to), there are things Android can barely do with 3 GB of RAM that my Lumia 635 could do with 512 MB of RAM. I probably had over 100 apps installed on my 8 GB storage WP too, since the ecosystem didn't limit you to choose all-or-nothing when it came to using the external storage. I never had to worry about micromanaging and manually transferring things every time there was an update.
If Microsoft didn't start pulling support for everything last year, I'd probably still be on their platform. Actually, if everybody
wasn't already so invested in their chosen platforms three to four years ago, I have no doubt it would have been much more successful. However, people will defend their (good and bad) choices so that they can feel good about themselves
(plus nobody wants to give up all their previous purchases, which isn't a problem with W10 users).

I'd go back in an instant if support picked back up. I really liked the idea that I could use my phone as an extension of my computer (plus native miracast!). I mean, the community enthusiasm was definitely present, but first-parties like Google not liking to play nice and actively messing with their APIs made it difficult to develop third-party apps (like for YouTube or Instagram), even if they were arguably improvements upon the original.
In my opinion, MS' still ahead of the game with Continuum, but if they let Google and Apple muscle in on their territory (which is looking likely, even with a decade head start), then they can forget about making another Lumia. It'll just be like the final days of Steam vs GFWL all over again and WP will be forever known as a joke. I'm not holding my breath though. They let up on the gas during the year they should have pushed their hardest.
That turned out to be quite lengthy... I guess I also have a strong opinion about gadgets. Haha!

Your comment in your Neopets Q&A about Neopets being an “option” was really refreshing. I see people get nasty about a game they play, to the extent that it affects other players, and I wonder if they’d be happier simply by changing up how they play, picking a different goal, or taking a break. No game is perfect, but if I don’t enjoy a game’s grinding aspect I don’t do it, or decrease how much I grind until I’m motivated to do more again. It was just nice to hear someone else mention it as it’s something I’ve been thinking about lately.

I feel that Windows Phone pain. My first smartphone was a Windows Phone and I was so excited about it. Nobody warned me that many popular, well-known smartphone apps were not compatible with it. I feel like it has so much potential as a device but that potential will remain unreached. RIP :(

Best way to curate your feed is to block as many corporate accounts as possible so you get the weird normal user ads.

Hey Julie! I expected you where liberal leaning, i myself reject the liberal/conservative spectrum and try to deal only with left, right, authoritarian, and libertarian, but i find that difficult to do when i'm discussing the issues with people who happen to not reject that as well. I'm glad that you talk openly about your political beliefs i feel that kind of transparency is to an extent important regardless of relevancy to the subject matter of a channel, as it affects people's behavior and beliefs in a way that may not be obvious to everyone so just like "hey these are my beliefs and they may affect my content" is an important thing to do! So thank you for being open in that regard!

Julie im Zowy28 on lioden i have a game suggestion you should play wajas its kinda like lioden but you don't have to feed the pets and they won't leave aslong as you have den space for them and its a breeding game about wolves.
