Learn the steps for changing the IP address on a domain controller. I highly recommend you go through a checklist before making changes to your domain controllers.

Written steps and my pre and post checklist:

How to check domain controller health (using dcdiag):

How to test replication between servers (using repadmin command):

Video details:
In this video, I walk through changing the IP address on one of my domain controllers. I changed the IP address from 192.168.100.11 to 192.168.100.15. The steps to changing the IP are very simple, but you must spend some time going through a checklist before making changes to production domain controllers. If you are changing subnets then there may be additional steps such as updating DHCP servers and relay agents on routers.

Domain controllers are a critical service and you don't want them to have issues or you will have a bad bad day. In my checklist I provide several steps to go through before and after changing IP addresses.

I need to move two DCs to a new subnet. Are the steps you show here the same for that task?
Is there a particular order to moving multiple DCs such as doing the Primary DC first, then the other?
Forgot to mention that this is on a closed network (no internet access).
Also, once all systems are moved to the new subnet, the old subnet will be retired.

Should NOT be the loopback address. Should be its own actual IP
