HOW TO Vertical Groove #concrete #subscribe #shorts

Here is a quick video on how to use a vertical groover or a piece of rebar to create a vertical groove in new concrete. This groove is to help control cracking.

I just set a chamfer strip in any desired position, liberally apply release….never fails

That vertical groove is functional but I think it is also attractive on the finished product.

HEY. Show the best trick I ever saw. I'm a mixer driver, and a finisher asked me to make him a half bucket of juice. I said I had never heard of that, so he stuck some small branches in the overlap of the flop chute, so it dripped into a bucket below while I was unloading at the pump. He said it was for facing the steps when he pulled the forms. After that, I showed that trick to everyone I delivered to doing steps.

I like that. We use the rebar method. Always got extra rebar somewhere in the truck.

I've been doing concrete since I was 18 years old I'm 64 now and retired that's a nice trick I always had to strip the steps first then tap a groover and with a hammer to make the groove I was always the one that had to strip the steps no one else wanted to and I wonder why sometimes they would suck face LOL

My ol lady has a vertical groove with a chamfer....I stick my rebar on it too....very satisfying finish

Pouring “A” curb, we always used survey stakes, (lath stakes). About 1-1/2” wide x 3/8” thick….install wet and remove just before stripping form to finish
