7 Days in Slovenia: A traveler's guide to the beautiful nation

Welcome to Slovenia. This small country (the size of New Jersey) sits between Italy, Austria, and Croatia, and as you’ll see, is one of Europe’s raddest places to travel. We gave ourselves a week. Starting off in Lake Bled, we swam in one of the most postcard looking lakes you’ve ever seen before heading off to sail in the Adriatic. From here we explored the Soča Valley — a region with turquoise blue rivers and limitless adventure options. Farm to table food and family-run wineries are a way of life in Slovenia, and we were stoked to spend time with world famous chef Ana RoŠ from HiŠa Franko restaurant as well as Aleš Kristančič, the storied winemaker of Movia vineyards. Don’t overlook this country when thinking of your next travels to Europe.

I am from India. Having visited Slovenia two years back, I can say that it is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Lake Bled, potzoana cave, Maribor are worth visiting a number of times. Thanks, beautiful Slovenia.

I’m an American who was born and raised in Slovenia. I care deeply for this place and it’s people. I fully support its tourism but it’s sad to watch tourists exploit the natural beauty. If you plan on visiting please be mindful and respect the nature by not damaging it. 🇸🇮🌲🧗🏼‍♀️⛷🚴🏼‍♀️❤️

I'm an American, born in Maribor, raised ten years of my life in Bovec in the Soča Valley, and then lived my teenage years in Bled. I lived a few houses from the Dobra Vila, new of Hiša Franko before it was world famous, swim in Lake Bled a few times a week, and my dad was a guide for extreme sports such as canyoning, rafting, kayaking, and our family did other sports like rock climbing, skiing, trekking...I'm very thankful for the very beautiful compliments that you have given to my country and I hope you will make such a video like this again. For all of those who would like to visit Slovenia, please help the Slovenes and everyone around you to keep this naturally beautiful country the way it is. Respect the laws when in the National Forest and Parks and treat this country like it is your own home. Have a wonderful time in this wonderland!

Zdravo! I'm from Slovenia and reading these comments about how beautiful it is makes me think. To us it's important but we don't se as much beauty as the tourists see.

I‘ve recently been to Slovenia with the scouts and we hiked from Most na Soči to Trieste in Italy. We spend most of our trip close to the Soča and I really miss waking up next to this amazing river, swimming in it every morning and every evening, exploring the beautiful landscape that surrounds the Reka Soča, taking pictures of all the amazing bridges that look like photoshop became real and to ride the old, cute trains. Seeing this makes me so unbelievably happy. Slovenia is such an amazing country, we met so many kind people and the river Soča is my favorite in the world❤️

We stop off in Slovenia frequently when we are in transit to Bosnia, it is the most beautiful and friendly country I have ever had the privilege to visit. It is Europes best kept secret and we plan to retire there. Think a smaller, affordable Switzerland and you will get the idea. As soon as travel restrictions are lifted, we will be on our way (again!)
