But does she let her kid dye her hair blue, laugh with at all her kids fart jokes and let her eat all the Uncrustables her little heart desires?! 🧐 Does she let her kid play dress up with her huge sketch-comedy wig collection, blast RuPaul’s “Supermodel” and do impromptu lip-sync competitions, and give her full sugar grocery store cake as a snack sometimes JUST BECAUSE ITS GODDAMNED DELICIOUS? Does she let her kid have unlimited screentime on a weekend day and watch ALL the Home Alone movies in a row (1, 2 and 3!) because sometimes a kid just needs to f*cking chill out?? No, she doesn’t! That’s me and don’t you forget it gurl!

(Ok clearly my mom guilt and compare and despair are RAGING today!! 🥴Why do I constantly compare myself to all the other moms that seem to be doing it all effortlessly?! The mom guilt and “compare and despair” I feel when I see other “perfect” moms makes me feel like 💩)

I know it doesn’t mean much because the brain will tell you want it wants to tell you…but try not to listen. If your kids are happy and healthy, don’t listen to what other moms say or pay attention to what other moms do. Every parent will have their strengths and weaknesses. That “cool” mom could likely be an absent mom as well. Parenting requires a bit of “uncoolness”. If you’re only ever “cool”, your kids are going to be unprepared for the real world.
