This doesn't happen after a couple of weeks of hot weather; it takes years of under-investment & overuse and lack of planning. The UK Government is 100% behind Climate Change but private industry (water companies) aren't. This is why national resources need to be nationalised, so that conserving & developing resources takes priority over profits & dividends. Capitalism and free markets have failed the nation in one of the most essential resources for life.

A side effect of bales of Hay burning is that because in most cases the individual bales are secured by Plastic twine/rope the air pollution that is emitted is intense.
The son of a friend of mine who suffers from allergies was hospitalized as a result.
