How To Turn Off Automatic Locks on a Honda Civic (No Scan Tool). In this video I show how to turn off the automatic locking and unlocking feature of the door locks on an 8th generation Honda Civic (2006-2011). It is a very simple DIY process and you do not need a scan tool to do it. How to disable/change Honda Civic automatic locks. The exact vehicle in the video is a 2006 Honda Civic EX Sedan. 2006-2011 Honda Civics should be similar.

Appreciate the essential information on these features. I live in a rough neighborhood and I wanted my car to stay lock even on park position and locks when shifted to drive for a very long time. The service guys from dealership and local shops will charge half hour work labor just to set them up for me. That’s why I had to be vigilant and lock doors after turning off engine . Now I had it set to stay lock and locks when shifted to drive . Thank you kindly!

I forgot the key inside the car, i get out of the car and closed the door for 2min. The car automatically locked itself. Now i am stuck at my work and its 11pm. I had to call my father to bring the other key to open the car. Once I got home, i followed your instructions and cancelled this automatic lock feature.

awesome, hope this works on my 2009 Accord, I hate it when it unlocks the doors just putting it in park. Sometimes I put it in park waiting in heavy traffic or long drive through lines or waiting to go into work. I don't like sitting in an unlocked car, very unsafe. Always so frustrating put the car in park boom, immediately have to re-lock the doors.. thank you for this video.

Thanks Big Dog! This worked on my 2008 CR-V. One of the locks was starting to stick and make a short buzzing noise whenever I stopped or creeped the vehicle. All good now!
