love these tormented, intense, brutal rock bands you guys have in Australia guys for so long.. Gareth career leads me to fantasize about what if Nick Cave (Birthday Party years) decided to stay in the dirty side. But I guess this is just psycowanking, so just forget about it

I wondered from the star of TFS what was going on in gareth's mind and company because the essence or atmosphere of the band in contrast with the Drones is much more social and direct, darkly direct, no punches pulled as if something in the nature of how things are happening worldwide was calling to be expressed in their art.the final stages of the drones gave hints of this direction, their last album "feeling kinda free" hqd alresdy a vein of TFS popping up Personally i admire the evident effort or need to put out there a direct message. Anyway this project, springtime does have a more antique feel and dwelves into the world of psychology, shining light on the same social topics explored in TFS, less abrupt and chaotic but sharing the unapologetic nature of TFS were a constant pull to reality, away from fantasies and illusions about the world is the effect that their music has on me.
Speaking of the music itself i would say that pretty much everything liddiar is touching now turns to gold in my ears, always emotionaly impactful, creative and very original and with a lot of playfulness and wittiness. Loving the new sound with this effort, feels complete and very palpable, the piano and acoustic drums give a sensation of isolation inside a mind. Again, personally i am grateful for the existence of talented and perceptive humans out there that have a voice of compassion and love, very much in the form of disconcerting paranoias that are hard or maybe impossible to talk in a medium other than arts.
