😱 I feel badly for them and for us consumers. Farming is so precariously dependent on weather and water. When there's too much water is literally as disastrous as drought. Citrus growers seem to be having a run of bad luck.

Saludos: Asociarte press, felicitó al senador Marcos Rubios, por estar siempre pendiente de los problemas de su pueblo, y ahora estar solidario con los productores de Cítricos del estado de Florida, por la devastación del Huracán Ien.

Florida has the climate that California has with summer rain that California doesn't.

For a long time California has found other water sources to cover that lack of rain in the summer. The ability to control the water in California was exploited in the era of only giant machinery and large migrant work forces because you could schedule these services and stop watering to harvest.

California no longer has the excess water to work this way.

The food industry is becoming more flexible for more and more exotic high priced produce going directly to specialty retail, homes and restaurants.

This model could work for Florida by it being able to harvest and ship smaller batches of more expensive specialty crops between the rains and through the winter.

The way agriculture has supported Florida rural communities might have to change - but it doesn't have to stop.

Who’s going to tell them that the government stepping in to give them financial help is not capitalism?

I hope my federal tax money does not go to help them . With no love from Louisiana. Pull yourselves up by your bootstraps .
