Awesome meeting you down in CA, Rob! Fantastic video- I watched the whole thing and agree with you, tho I never got a chance to try GripX2, only GripX. Still- the GripX was quite a well built fork. See you around! 🤙

I'd like to see what Shockwiz on that would show. The best just got better. 190mm, yes, I agree. Great video reveiw as always Rob, the community loves your work, thank you.

Oh man, two videos from Rob back-2-back? Um, yes please! Thank you Rob! Great video (as always), and great presentation of this new fork from FOX. I gotta admit, this upgrade from the Grip2 isn't something 'I' notice, but I'm really digging the gold color and the new technology.

I run the 38 with the regular grip damper. Still feels great to me and is hella simple to set up. Something to be said for simplicity.

My fox 38 rhythm on my kenevo has been excellent. Always cool to see new tech, but I have no complaints with my pretty basic rhythm with grip damper.

I wonder what it is that gives us all different views ? I'm an Ohlins 38 M2 preferer. BUT .... I've just ordered an EXT ERA LT. So, I'm looking forward to see how that compares to the Fox 38 and the ZEB

fox had perfectly good forks in 2008, what we really want is something that is easy to service and that doesn't break, why can't they just do that?

Great review and video Rob, but I think it’s sac religious to run those huge red SRAM Maven brakes on a Fox fork. I think Hopes or Trickstuff would be more appropriate. I would like to know how the new Fox compares to the EXT on the Sonni though. 😎👍🏼

Yes, I really want a 190mm version too. The ZEB is available with 190mm, but because I'm very heavy and ride the fork with a lot of air pressure, the ZEB is just far too progressive for me, even without volume spacers. Even without volume spacers, it is impossible for me to utilize the full travel of a ZEB, no matter how hard I jump in the flat. The air spring on Fox dips significantly deeper into the travel, which means it still works quite well even at 135-140 PSI if you open the compression completely and remove the volume spacers completely. A ZEB is significantly more progressive with equivalent air pressure (The ZEB needs less air pressure in the positive chamber for the same SAG) and open compression and it is impossible to use more than 60-70% of the spring travel. For light riders the Fox probably dips too deep into the travel because the negative chamber is larger than the ZEB, but for riders between 100kg and 135kg the Fox 38 is better suited in my opinion. But that is just my personal opinion.

Just got a Fox 38 grip 2 for my old Kona stinky Aire and upgraded to 50mm wide 27.5 wheel and tires. Should ride like new again.

So the big question.... can existing Fox forks be upgraded to the new dampers?

Only ridden lower end bikes. Any bike with dual suspension with more than 130mm is a huge upgrade for me.

So, best to buy the Grip2 damper on discount then?

Did you intentionally run the fork super soft to make it look good on the slow mo or is that the way fox recommended you set it up?

Can't wait to see the photos of that gold fork from people that clearly spend more time making their bike look "bling" than actually ride it.

Great video as always, thank you! Where are you riding in this video (e.g. 07:06)?
