Angry Seal Drags 50m of Fishing Line

Angry seals are strong seals - they have the best chance of survival. Angry seals keep us on high alert because they are fighting for their lives thinking we are predators and they will use all their powers to escape or bite. Seals with old entanglements are often weak because they cannot breathe or hunt properly. This one fought her rescue particularly hard, she had not suffered too much from the full spool of fishing line (50m) wrapped around her neck. She was dragging a big ball of line behind when the OCN rescuers found her at Pelican Point. She is free now. 🦭

Being an asthmatic myself, I'm very sensitive about these animals not being able to breathe properly. Imagine what that must feel like while trying to swim under the water!
