A Very Peaceful Death

Obitum Placidissimum(“A Very Peaceful Death” in Latin) is the fourteenth album from Rove Monteux, accompanying his thirty two singles and fourteen albums, in his solo career into Classical, Cinematic, Drama, Neobaroque, Neoclassical and Electronic music.

Themed around a funeral invitation by Jacobi Richelli from 1693, the Obitum Placidissimum album goes, in sequence, through Obitum Placidissimum (“a very peaceful death”, the invitation for the funeral procession), Obitum Cruciatissimum (“a very tormented death”, a more realistic version of the event, what really happened), Funus Duceretur (“the funeral will be conducted”, the introduction to the ceremony), Funus Martii (“march’s funeral/funeral march”, the nickname of the ceremony, the ceremony itself), Vincit Patientia A Deo Data (“God-given patience wins”, a lifetime upon death), Sequi Me (“follow me”, we will all follow the same path), and, at last, Finis Viae (“the end of the road”, the point of no return).

The music is a modern version of Baroque music, with the characteristically twisted modern touch and varied influences displayed in Rove Monteux’es works.
