Hazard's peak is more fun to watch. His dribbling was 2nd only to Messi. He had Ballon d'Or winning talent and even during his prime he was still only utilising 70% of it.
If he had played outside of England as the No.1 guy, so say he signed for Juventus instead of Chelsea, and he reached his potential he'd be a 50g 20a season type player.

I think deep down even as a Chelsea fan you have to go KDB due to what’s happened to hazard. If hazard didn’t like the Big Macs and the injuries didn’t happen at Madrid im sure this argument would so much closer and maybe lean the other way. For me I have never been more excited by a player in a Chelsea shirt. Hope he’s doing well mentally, was his dream to play at Madrid.

Beautifully described, KDB will go down as a better player in history but i really thought Hazard was a true galactico heir to that No 7 Madrid shirt. Hazard could have easily decided a game on his own in any team and KDB is a fundamental Pep player. Both world-class in their own right.

Hazard v de bruyne let’s go- from hazards debut up until he came to Chelsea (21 years old) he had won Young player of the year in France and won player of the year the season after even scoring 20 goals in the league and getting 18 assists in the 38 league matches. To put that into perception neymar who’s been in France for years has never got 38 goal contributions in a league campaign hazard did that at 21.

He then moves to Chelsea and by 25 has a young PFA and PFA and a league title. By the age of 25 de bruyne had 1 decent season at Bremen getting 19 G/A for the season was rejected by Chelsea went to Wolfsburg and broke the assist record getting 21 assists with 10 goals and winning German player of the year. So from there debut till 25 hazard was the better player.

From 25-26 ( the next season) de bruyne was better hazard was poor in 15/16. 16/17 hazard was better chelsea won the league hazard won players player of the year and should have won PFA but Kante got it ahead of him. Then the year after 17/18 de bruyne was better. And the season after that 18/19 de bruyne got injured and hazard had the year of his life getting 15 goals and 16 assists in the league alone winning playmaker of the year award and scoring numerous amazing solo goals.

Then from 2019 up until this current day de bruyne has been better. If u look at there overall team success then de bruyne is better but team success is a unfair way to base who’s the better player on as someone like foden has more team success than Gerrard but isn’t better. But its defo a aspect.

Prime for prime de bruyne has been in his prime for 4-5 years now consistently putting up numbers and winning titles. Hazard had 2 amazing years 2013-15 and another great year in 2016-17 but funny enough none of those years are his prime. Prime hazard was from the World Cup thru until when he won the Europa league with Chelsea. His prime lasted no more than a year and a half but he was insane during that period. To put it into perspective by December 2018 only 2 players had registered 10 goals and 10 assists in the league hazard and 1 other the goat messi. He had the most dribbles completed in Europe more than messi and neymar and had a better success rate than the both of them. He’d created the most chances in the league and carried Belgium at the World Cup getting 3 goals and 2 assists and winning the silver ball. He broke numerous dribbling records at the World Cup like first player to complete 10 dribbles in back to back games ( France and Brazil ). First player to finish a World Cup match with 100% 10/10 successful dribbles ( v Brazil ).

Onto de bruyne his prime has been 4-5 years joining assist records 20 joint with Henry in the prem. banging loads of goals 13 and 15 in 2 different campaigns and getting double figures G/A in 3/4 seasons.

Now if you ask me prime for prime hazard de bruyne well de bruynes prime is 4-5 years whereas hazard had great years in 2013-15 but his actual prime was 18-19. Now for me de bruyne has never been as good as hazard was in 2018/19 but his prime has lasted longer. A similar comparison would be r9 and Henry. R9 had 2 peak years got injured came back and had another 2 peak years whereas Henry had about 6 years in a row where he was in his peak so Henry’s lasted longer ( de bruyne) but r9 was a a slightly better level ( hazard). This isn’t a fact this is my opinion.

Overall u have to go with de bruyne now because of hazards Madrid career but if you ask me prime for prime I’d take hazard. I think hazards quite unfortunate he didn’t have better forwards around him at Chelsea as in 7 years the player who assisted him most was Willian with only 4 assists whereas someone like salah today would get 4 goals from assists by Arnold in 1 season.

I think ppl overlook how consistent hazard was before he went to Madrid. He was bad in 1 season from 2012-18 and that was 15/16. He made 4/7 team of the years won Chelsea player of the year 4 times and won a YPFA and a PFA with 2 league titles.

It’s a good debate they were and are both great players that will both go down as prem greats. One thing with hazard I don’t think there’s been a better player to watch in the prem since Henry he was so good on the eye i remember going to games an everytime he got the ball the crowd would wake up.

Id always say De Bruyne. Hazard struck me as a pain in the arse and somebody that just downed tools after moving to Madrid. A really poor professional.
