Steve'll Fix It S02-E01 - 2014 MacBook Air liquid damage repair

I'm neither a PC or Mac Fanboi, they both have their strengths and weaknesses. But I do like my McBook Air because of its size, weight and the sad fact that even with a hobbled Intel i5 is the most powerful machine I own! I was therefore a little miffed when I knocked a pint of water into it in the middle of the night.

The damaged IC is U5450 (INA214) and pin 5 is ISNS_HS_COMPUTING_N.

Very brave of you even to attempt the repair, very well done. I once washed my Iphone 4 in a normal wash and noticed the clunking half way through. I did rescue it by keeping it in a bag of rice for one week with constantly shaking it about and my fingers crossed. Only lost one of the speakers but its still working today!
On a side note any details on your microscope and the tweezers you use, and a pointer on where and what to get for a rework heat gun as I heard you say avoid the cheap chinese ones? Thanks hope you don't mind indulging me. Thanks again for the work you do here.
