At 65, I agree with you. I clean as I go along. It doesn’t take long to make beds and make sure laundry is put away, tidy up the bathroom, clean as you meal prep, etc. It’s when you let it go that it becomes overwhelming. I declutter as I go along and makes it so much easier

Next time I start to complain about chores I will say,
Thank you God for a roof over my head, for clothes to wash, food to eat, shoes to wear, warmth and cooling, eyes to see it all, heart to appreciate it and mind to know God provides.

Favorite scene from the video...a little hand comes in from out of frame to slowly grab the smoothie jar. 😂 so cute. Thank you for the encouraging video. --Keturah

I found everything became easier and I had enough time when I stopped sitting down to watch tv. I haven’t had a tv for 18 years now. I use that time for a quick tidy before bed and for self care. Reading a book. One of my friends said she just doesn’t have enough time. I asked her how much tv she watched the previous night. She said three hours….🤷🏼♀️. Three hours of just sitting. Which is absolutely fine if you have that time. I found it made me stressed so I stopped doing it.😊

If only watching you clean magically made my house clean...

I’ve changed my meal planning technique. I now just have a list, not even necessarily in order, of 4 meals I’d like to make that week to be sure I have my ingredients.
I typically make double what my family needs and freeze left overs in serving size increments so that on the busy nights, we pull what we want for dinner out of the freezer

Whenever I start to feel discouraged or even disgruntled with the mundane tasks ahead of me again & again, I turn one of these videos on & it just refreshes my perspective of how much of an honor it is to have a home to care for.

Lisa out of all of your videos this is one of the top MOST important for today's woman to know and accept. Thanks as always

I have had to come to the fact that my home will probably never be as neat as yours, because while I am homemaking, I also run a 200-acre small scale farm with swine, sheep, vegetable crops, cattle, and poultry. I do feel that if I wasn't doing that, I would have plenty of time for the house! For now, as long as the floors are swept and the dishes are done, I'll have to be satisfied. Your videos do help me find the motivation to get some cleaning done after a day outside.

The best thing you can do for a sock bin is get every person the same socks.
Even if each child’s are different. Each child should have matching socks to keep the socks in check 😂

Funny little hack: Choose the same sock brand and color. Makes sorting a breeze!

I use the extra socks that don't have a match for dusting .

I agree - if you take away hours of tv/screen time, there is plenty of time in a day to stay on top of things!

The thing I found to really help me with 3 little ones was to get up before the family. That way I had time for some coffee, toss a load of laundry in, read, whatever, without someone underfoot. Also my kids were in bed by 7. Yes SEVEN. They didn't have to sleep but they went down. Those 2 habits plus naps saved my sanity.
My 18 year old got upset that she was being told to take a nap (she's grown, you know), I told her to take a book in there and lie down. She was knocked out 10 min later. LOL. Naps for everyone - me included!
Laundry was sorted using of each (blue/black/white) laundry baskets and as my children stripped down for baths, they learned to sort their clothes. Hang everything that is hangable. When get up, smooth the sheets and make the bed. Cooking was 2 crock pots on rotation. One cooking the other waiting in the fridge.

I only watched 8 minutes of this so far but was instantly convicted when you said there is enough time in the day. I paused the video and went downstairs to wash the dishes. Thank you! Absolutely love your content. You make real homesteading feel attainable.

Love your channel. You mentioned teaching your daughters a skill in the kitchen. On behalf of your sons’ future loves, please teach them too. ❤

Watching your videos instead of actually cleaning my kitchen, lol. Love cooking, but not the cleaning part, so it's usually a mess. Thanks for the tips! ❤❤❤

You can’t work full time and keep the house clean unless you work like a mad woman. I used to really stress to keep things perfect but now that I am 79, I realize I wasted a lot of my life trying to make things perfect. I didn’t have a husband at home all day. I worked outside the home and spent 10 hours a day gone. Sunday was church twice a day and church Wednesday night. Ugh

I love the mantra of" many hands makes light work " This has been a great way to spend quality time with our family, but also to help them see their value as part of a team. As a farming, homesteading homeschooling family, we kept things going with the attitude of everyone being diligent....so thankful for the effect this has been to our now adult children

I can't go along with the non sorting of the laundry. I don't like colors draining into my whites because they will look dingy and I like my whites to look white. Also, red and blue bleeds and it makes the clothes look bad. But, if it works for you, that's great. It's just not for me. I have always worked full time and found a lot of ways to keep my home clean and care for my children and always found the time to do it without going crazy. You just have to find a way to make it work for you. I always made beds right away after getting up, laid clothes out the night before, never went to bed with a dirty kitchen and always planned meals for the week every Saturday.
